They have had five (5) different "Techs" on it, diagnosed it three (3) times, supposedly ordered two (2) chucks, ordered a new z-truck. Now here it is the 2nd of May and I have been on the phone with Sears every week since. I dropped my machine off on the 23rd of March and the Sears Manager gave me a turnaround date of the 9th of April, (possibly the 2nd of April "seeing how they are not busy right now")

PC Outlaw I hope the best to you I was just trying to help you out where CW are sold and where I found was the best price! Lol what the heck do I know?! I will stop posting anything about Amazon. Like everything else I look for the best price, I can't help Amazon offers the best deal. I was not talking about different belts unless I missed it was offered with your special that was sent to my e-mail? It comes with 2 bits ( unless LHR has stopped including 2 bits with Amazon?) 1 year warranty and free shipping with FREE Super Saver Shipping (5-8 business days) I even went through the check out and it is still offered. Amazon has not changed since I bought my last CW. I am not buying a CW if you want remove my post that will be fine. I just want to make sure we are giving accurate info, which I know is difficult when things keep changing all of the time. START U members DO work off of commission, so if they help you out, make sure you place your order through them, so they can get credit for it. Plus, we (LHR employees) do not work off of commissions, so that isn't it either. It doesn't matter to me or LHR who you get it from, because either YOU order it from us, or AMAZON orders it from us.

If you order the machine from LHR with the HDTB, we will install them before sending the machine out. The thing to remember about purchasing from Amazon is you have to order & put the Heavy Duty Traction Belts on yourself.

Base price + bit + one year warranty + shipping (although I didn't read the fine print to see if it really does qualify for free shipping on Amazon). LHR is still $78.01 less expensive than Amazon with all of that considered. You will like like the CT it works well and the new "C" model has been improved and all the issues of the earlier models have been fixed.

With the CT you can use 1/2" bits and with the adapter sleeve 1/4" bits. Yet with the CT they will have the pressed on adapters that you don't want to remove. The new machine will come with 2 bits like your "A" model a carving bit and cutting bits. You can use the same adapter with any 1/4" shaft bits. Remember if you buy a new machine with the CT order a 1/4" adapter sleeve. Or if you don't care about keeping the adapters after you remove the bits then vise grips work well! Those allen screws strip very easy so vise grips do a great job.

If they are too tight then heat is use to loosen the lock tite. Chances are they are loose and using a allen wrench loosen and remove the bit. On the QC there are 2 allens screws one on each side.

Here is a video link about the CT assembly:Īnd after they are hot enough, do they have to be put in a press and pressed out, or can they just be pulled out of the collar? You should consider buying the CarveTight (CT) Assembly, and the two new required bits along with at least one split collet. Some try to press this ring back in place. I have no idea where it came from, and if it is still feasible to run my CC.Īny assistance on this would be greatly appreciated.īobYour Quick Change chuck spindle assembly os compromised. I was carving a piece of pine (using the 3/16" carving bit) and about half way through the pattern this piece of metal appeared and now my bit is a little looser than it was before, the tip can now move about 1/8” side to side, whereas before it was pretty tight (minimal movement side to side).ġ.25” +/- in diameter (if the ends where connected)
